About the Role

You'll design the APIs, databases, and infrastructure that power our clients' products. From real-time fintech dashboards to e-commerce marketplaces, your code will handle thousands of concurrent users. We value clean architecture, thorough testing, and writing systems that are easy to debug at 2am.

What You'll Do

Design and implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs for complex business logic

Architect PostgreSQL schemas optimised for read-heavy and write-heavy workloads

Build and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS (ECS, RDS, S3, CloudFront)

Implement real-time features using WebSockets and server-sent events

Write comprehensive tests and set up CI/CD pipelines

Collaborate with frontend engineers on API contracts and data modelling

What We're Looking For

5+ years of backend development experience with Node.js / TypeScript

Strong PostgreSQL skills — queries, indexing, migrations, performance tuning

Experience deploying and managing services on AWS

Understanding of system design: caching strategies, queueing, load balancing

Solid grasp of testing methodologies (unit, integration, E2E)

Experience with Docker and container orchestration

Nice to Have

Experience with Redis, Elasticsearch, or similar data storesKnowledge of event-driven architectures and message queuesPrevious experience in fintech or payment systemsContributions to open-source backend tools
